Your Project: The Remote Ground Station Network Engineer is a member of the Remote Ground Station (RGS) team that supports a worldwide network of satellite ground stations. The Remote Ground Station Engineer is responsible for operations, engineering, and support for Maxar and customer ground stations. The Remote Ground Station Network Engineer will collaborate with a multidiscipline team to ensure that the stations and their networks operate at a high level of performance and availability



Developing professional expertise in their field. Works on problems of moderate scope, where analysis of situations or data requires assessment of a variety of factors. Exercises judgement within defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate action. Receives only general instructions on routine work, while receiving detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):



  • Perform installation and ongoing sustainment of IP networking infrastructure and computer systems at Maxar’s Remote Ground Stations

  • Engineer system and networking solutions for customer requirements

  • Assess system security posture and recommend solutions to enhance overall security

  • Support field installation and ongoing sustainment of Maxar ground station antennas and equipment



  • Full Motion Antenna Systems.

  • Radios & RF Communications.

  • Computing Systems.

  • Facilities including Power and HVAC.

  • Utilize project and problem management solutions to ensure initiatives are properly tracked and implemented

  • Perform troubleshooting and execute repairs of reported issues with Maxar-owned or customer ground stations

  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding recommended actions for reported issues

  • Utilize and maintain monitoring tools. Perform ongoing assessments of the most effective means to gather operational metrics for insight into performance

  • Ensure documentation is created, assembled, and organized for Maxar and customer ground stations

  • Support the deployed network and antenna infrastructure as part of an on-call rotation

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Cybersecurity, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in enterprise network operations, or equivalent experience in network operations

  • Experience with the Microsoft applications, including Visio and Word

  • Competency with TCP/IP network protocols

  • U.S. Citizen with a current DoD Clearance (Secret) or the ability to obtain one

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the year

  • Routinely requires lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms).

These skills would be amazing:

  • Experience in satellite ground station operations, or equivalent experience in aerospace operations

  • Experience with satellite ground station infrastructure including antennas, radios and baseband processing systems

  • Familiarity with computer systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux OS environments

  • Competency with Juniper network devices.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is: $66,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually.
