Job Summary
At the direction of the principal and in collaboration with Accelerating Scholars, the role of the Instructional Specialist, TN ALL Corps is to provide and facilitate standards-based literacy and/or math tutoring in compliance with the TN ALL Corps/Accelerating Scholars tutoring model. The Instructional Specialist collaborates regularly with other educators to utilize data-based decision-making to meet the needs of individual students. Tutors will utilize the provided curriculum materials and work in collaboration with classroom teachers to deliver instruction and assess student progress. Tutors will maintain accurate and timely attendance and progress monitoring data in accordance with grant requirements. Tutors will provide student progress updates to families via monthly progress reports. This position is contingent upon grant funding and the continuing availability of funds and is expected to last until June 30, 2024

Essential Duty 1:
INSTRUCTION: Provides standards-based literacy and/or math tutoring support to small groups of no more than 3 students using district-approved tutoring curriculum and resources; Collaborates regularly with classroom teachers and other appropriate personnel to plan, implement, and adjust instruction along a continuum of increasing intensity based on student needs as identified through multiple sources of data, including ongoing assessment.
Essential Duty 2:
DATA COLLECTION & DOCUMENTATION: Maintains accurate attendance records by marking attendance in MNPS? online tutoring platform after each tutoring session.
Essential Duty 3:
ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING: Completes required academic progress monitoring assessments with students and logs assessment results in required system(s). Provides monthly progress updates to families using provided progress reports. Collaborates with school staff and faculty to assess the needs of children and to determine how best to address those needs.
Position Specific Responsibility 1:
PROFESSSIONAL LEARNING: Completes all required TN ALL Corps and Accelerating Scholars tutor training modules/courses. Participates in educational team meetings, including ongoing professional development and review of progress.
Position Specific Responsibility 2:
Ensures that students receive the intended amount of tutoring by meeting with students at least twice a week for a minimum of 90 total minutes per week.

Performs other duties or tasks as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities in this job classification.

· 3 years of successful literacy and/or math teaching experience preferred.
