Responsibilities

The Ascension Data Sciences Institute (ADSI) was created in July 2019 with the mission of supporting Ascension in achieving its Quadruple Aim with uniquely skilled, high-performing associates who develop analyses, models, and applications to enable Ascension in providing higher value healthcare and making strategic decisions. ADSI is comprised of 6 domains addressing 1) Clinical quality and patient safety; 2) Health Economics and Clinical Outcomes; 3) Strategic Operations and Financial Analytics; 4) Actuarial and Managed Care Analytics; 5) Registry Abstraction Healthcare Solutions; and 6) Healthcare Data Intelligence.

We are hiring a Manager of Clinical Transformation Analytics on the Clinical Quality team to support Ascension’s goal to differentiate ourselves on patient quality by leveraging innovations in health technology including but not limited to AI, wearables, virtual care, and remote patient monitoring. In this position, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of technical solutions that support Ascension’s strategy partnering closely with leaders within the Clinical Transformation team and across the organization. To be successful, you will need to have superior organizational skills and the ability to lead technical projects that require cross-functional collaboration.

  • Execute on the strategic vision for clinical transformation developed in partnership with the Sr. Director of Community and Patient Risk Analytics, the Chief Clinical Transformation Officer, and the Chief Quality Officer.
  • Hire, train and manage the clinical transformation analytics team promoting professional development, employee engagement and retention in addition to administrative tasks related to staffing.
  • Manage multiple projects through subordinate leads ensuring resources and infrastructure are in place to meet expectations and operate efficiently.
  • Partner with the lead data scientist to develop and implement standard processes for moving machine learning models from development to production including code review, bias testing, performance validation, Vertex AI Pipeline containerization and scaling, security and ongoing monitoring.
  • Collaborate on technological needs analyses and coordinate with cross-functional teams on solutions to interface with clinical applications.
  • Scope potential research and AI projects for feasibility, partner with the lead data scientist to guide the technical process, and contribute to individual projects.
Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • At least one year of leadership or management experience
  • Strong SQL and data engineering or data management experience
  • Experience leading projects related to integration of technology into applications
  • Experience developing and validating machine learning models
  • Experience working with EMR and adjudicated claims data
