Posted 2025-04-06Directly supervises and develops track workforce to ensure quality maintenance and safe work performance. Inspects and maintains all track structure and right-of-way to specifications set by Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Leads and manages the personal safety and track safety process to ensure policy compliance.
 Plans work assignments and... schedules for assigned district, including track inspection, maintenance, and construction.
 Responsible for the craft personnel as well as all supervisors in the Maintenance of Way (MoW) Department
 Inspects production gang work and track construction projects to ensure quality compliance
 Makes periodic track inspection monitoring to ensure that all FRA and FEC requirements are being met by track inspectors
 Responsible for filling vacancies ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures
 Responsible for enforcing compliance with safety procedures; use of PPE and keeping required records
 Manage and ensure Department meets its track and capital projects service goals
 Ensure compliance to budget with hiring, overtime, and materials procurement
 Perform all job related responsibilities with minimal management direction and guidance
 Contribute to the development of new standards and/or modification of existing standards
 Conducts efficiency and operational tests
 Prepares reports stating causes of accidents or concerning condition of tracks and issues recommendations to prevent future accidents, damage, or track deterioration.
 Requisitions supplies and materials to complete construction projects and district maintenance requirements.
 Effectively communicate and build rapport across departments, sub-departments and public agencies
 Effective utilization of performance management and interpersonal skills to ensure timely feedback and coaching as required to maintain discipline and improve performance
 Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 Valid driverÂs license.
 High School diploma or equivalent.
 At least 2 years of responsible supervisory experience in railroad track inspection and maintenance in track Class 4 or higher.
 Training or certification in FRA 213 Rules and CWR Policies
 Knowledge of rail operations and physical infrastructure
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 BachelorÂs degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in civil or industrial engineering
 At least 5 years combined supervisory experience in Engineering; Construction, Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering
 Experience managing budgets
 Previous experience supervising a unionized workforce

WORKING CONDITIONS
 Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard workweek)
 Combination of office work and working outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions
