RPG/400 (RPG III) Developer Requirements Responsibilities... As an RPG/400 (RPG III) Developer, you will play a critical role in the lifecycle of our system. Your responsibilities will include:  Configuring code based on program specifications provided.  Implementing client requirements accurately and efficiently.  Troubleshooting and debugging systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.  Recovering from software glitches and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.  Providing thorough analysis of test runs to assess program functionality and performance.  Developing effective workarounds for unexpected challenges.  Modifying existing programs to enhance functionality or address evolving business needs.  Offering ongoing maintenance and support for applications, ensuring their stability and reliability.  Collaborating with fellow developers and IT support staff to ensure seamless operation of programs and applications. Background: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:  A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in software development.  Proficiency in RPG/400 (RPG III) programming language and familiarity with DB2 SQL.  Prior experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of CL programming.  Knowledge of ILE (Integrated Language Environment) is highly advantageous.  Experience with BPCS (Business Planning and Control System) or other ERP systems is a plus.  Excellent analytical thinking skills to effectively troubleshoot and solve complex problems.  Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.  Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability in coding and system configuration.  Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines.
