North Carolina Science Education Leader
Posted 2025-04-06Young people all over the world deserve a world-class science education.
In todayÂs digital age, itÂs crucial for students to not only navigate the sea of information on social media but to become equipped with the critical thinking skills and tools needed to solve the big issues of tomorrow.
We are dedicated to crafting world-class teaching and learning resources for middle and high school science classrooms. Our driving force? To enable teachers to cultivate their students critical thinking skills and make evidence-based decisions for themselves and their community.
Stile equips teachers with everything they need to deliver a relevant, engaging and rigorous education for their students supporting teachers, and students with videos, lesson plans, questions, simulations, activities and more. We are incredibly proud that over half a million students and 10,000 teachers globally use our platform, and we expect this to more than double in the next few years as we expand into North... Carolina and across the USA.
ThatÂs where you come in.
We need your passion for pedagogy, expertise in school leadership and your entrepreneurial spirit, to spearhead our expansion across North Carolina.
As a member of our US team, youÂll be responsible for building strong relationships with teachers, school and district leaders. This may be in the form of piloting our product, teaching a Stile lesson, or presenting at a conference, always ensuring that we are getting schools excited about adding Stile to their toolkit. You will already be an expert in the science of learning, classroom instruction and pedagogy. Ideally (but not essentially), youÂll also be well-versed in North CarolinaÂs Science Standards.
LetÂs be clear, this is a sales role but a sales role like none other. We hold science teaching superheroes in the highest regard, and we want you to be their new sidekick!
Here are some of the things youÂll be doing to help revolutionize science education:
Visiting schools and discussing science education with like-minded leaders
A lot of your time will be spent on the road, visiting schools, mostly in North Carolina. You might drop into a staffroom with snacks or find yourself teaching a class to model best practice teaching with Stile. Ultimately, youÂre looking to form strong relationships with teachers and leadership. If you ask your new colleagues, theyÂll tell you working with teachers and leaders is the best part of this job! We donÂt want to shy away from the reality that some of this involves ÂsalesÂ, but we promise itÂs fun and weÂll teach you everything you need to know.
Building a community of brilliant science educators
Building relationships with those in the local STEM community is key to being successful in this role and youÂll be a regular at local events and conferences. Once you have established a network, youÂll even find yourself hosting events to unite leaders within the community to share ideas, getting sucked into a nerdy conversation or even presenting about these topics on a regular basis.
 Being the go-to person
YouÂre the go-to person for all things Stile in North Carolina! YouÂve got your finger on the pulse for all of the districts youÂre looking after. YouÂll be working independently or as part of the global team as the North Carolina expert. YouÂll be chatting with teachers and administrators in person, by phone and on email. Before long, youÂll build strong relationships with your schools, find out what they need and what their pain points are. YouÂll understand the districtÂs strategic priorities and help them achieve their goals.
 You get it done
We donÂt just talk the talk, we walk the walk. There will be lots of action off the back of chatting to schools and youÂll be responsible for making sure these things happen and are a delightful experience every single time. YouÂll work closely with the rest of the Stile team to develop and implement awesome ways to engage teachers. YouÂll keep immaculate records of all your interactions with schools.
Continuing to hone your own skills and knowledge
WeÂre life-long learners at Stile, so weÂre always looking to improve our practice. YouÂll find yourself reading up on the latest negotiation strategies, or learning about the latest trends in education technology. You can also expect to spend time peer-reviewing work with your colleagues, ensuring weÂre always delivering the best possible service. The US team will also get together regularly for in-person training and planning.
The DetailsAbout you
Hopefully this gives you a bit of a picture of the characteristics that we think would help people both enjoy, and be successful in, this role. This is by no means an exhaustive list, nor do all of them need to be true of you today.
You have a rich background in education, perhaps in district administration or as a middle or high school science teacher.
YouÂre driven, self-motivated and entrepreneurial, and perhaps have run your own side hustle.
YouÂre knowledgeable about science education and youÂre across the latest trends in education technology, pedagogy and NGSS. Importantly, you share our passion for improving science education in the US, and genuinely want to help ensure our young people leave school ready to tackle tomorrowÂs problems.
You are likable and empathetic. A strong communicator that can build positive relationships and really put yourself in someone elseÂs shoes; understanding their problems and working to help fix them.
You're eager to learn. Super eager. You soak up feedback, incorporate it, and are constantly driven to be better.
YouÂre proactive and strategic. A hard worker who gets stuff done. YouÂre motivated to work independently, but love contributing in a team environment.
DonÂt meet every single requirement? At Stile we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if youÂre excited about this role but your past experience doesnÂt align perfectly with all of the points above, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Hours and location
This is a full-time, permanent role based in North Carolina, ideally within one hour of Charlotte. When youÂre not on the road, you will be working from home - weÂll ensure you are set up with everything you need to be productive.
Work hours are flexible, but generally fall in line with a typical 9-5 day. This role is about meeting with schools so usually your school visits and PD sessions will run before or after school, or the best time to help may be in the evening or the occasional weekend conference. YouÂll be spending lots of time driving to schools and districts, so youÂll need your own car (donÂt worry, we cover your expenses). Semi-regular travel will be required to meet with schools further away, in which case weÂll book transportation and hotels for your stay.
Life at Stile
Stile is run by the people who started and own the company. WeÂre here to build something real and enduring. A company that in years to come we look back on and are proud of what we achieved, and how we achieved it.
Work on something that really matters.

The internet democratised information. We believe that with a strong command of science, tomorrowÂs citizens and leaders have a fighting chance of sorting the misinformation from the facts.
 Colleagues worth working with.
YouÂll join an amazing global 75-strong team of teachers, scientists, artists and engineers. Imagine a workplace where everyone genuinely cares about, and is working towards improving scientific literacy amongst our young citizens. We hold ourselves, and each other, to a high standard, and love what we do.
 Community.
In this role, youÂll build an incredible network of teachers, school and district leaders and STEM professionals across North Carolina.
 Flexibility.
We care about the quality and quantity of the work you get done. Expect that you work hard, but youÂll have flexible hours and youÂre the master of your own schedule.
 Support always.
Stile is its people, and itÂs important we are creating an environment where youÂre supported, happy and able to do your best work. We have strong management and feedback frameworks, an Employee Assistance Program, comprehensive health coverage, vision and dental insurance, employer contributions to 401(k) and much more.
