Special Education Paraeducator
Posted 2025-04-06The special education paraprofessional performs related duties as required or assigned,
under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher. The individual who fills the
position will provide assistance to students with IEPs and perform a variety of tasks relating
to the instructional needs of these students in an online classroom. They will also assist in
the implementation of instructional programs, collect progress toward students IEP goals,
and assist with behavioral interventions in various subject matters.
This position works closely with the Special Education Teachers and reports to the Special
Education Director. In addition, there are quarterly performance reviews for this position.
Roles
He/she is accountable for performing the following functions:
1) Carry to completion in a timely manner, instructional and supportive activities as assigned
by the supervising teacher
? Follow scripted lesson plans
? Provide instruction based on the teacherÂs... direction
? Utilize online resources for delivering curriculum to students
2) Collect data to monitor student progress towards IEP goals
? Administer probes/tests to gather data on student progress
? Track and input data daily to ensure sufficient data for each IEP goal
3) Assist students in achieving academic success
 Behavior support
 Social integration
 Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and Regular Education
Teachers as well as related service staff.
4) Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
5) Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
 Two years of higher education and/or Associate's Degree OR
 Has passed or will pass within one month of being hired, the PRAXIS exam with a qualifying score
 Ability to pass a background check
 Strong technology skills

 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

$16 - $20 an hour
