BioPharma Application Specialist
Posted 2025-04-06Position Overview: The Application Specialist will be instrumental in providing product expertise, application knowledge, and technical support throughout the biopharma customer acquisition process. This role is pivotal in imparting the product's technical acumen and market insights to the sales team. The primary objectives include; ensuring the successful design, validation, and implementation... of biopharma products; aiding sales with product design, positioning, and demonstration of products; and assisting customers with application development, initial startups, and training.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks:
· Support to Sales: Offer guidance on existing products through presentations, demonstrations, and application studies. Collaborate with product management on new products by engaging in beta site testing and demonstrations.
· Product Line Responsibility: Manage the assigned product line to aid in achieving sales targets.
· Customer Process Support: Assist Sales with customer process analysis and User Requirement Specifications (URS). Create application trials to design optimized products that meet application needs.
· Proactive and Reactive Technical Support: Address inquiries and resolve field implementation issues for customers.
· Quality Department Support: Aid in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customer processes for enhanced investigation and resolution.
· Data Analysis: Gather, verify, and analyze data on product line performance and customer feedback to identify necessary product feature adjustments.
· Competitor Reporting: Monitor competitors' products and relay feedback to application specialist management and product management.
· Training and Workshops: Conduct basic product training for internal sales and facilitate external customer workshops.
· Collaboration: Work with various interfaces to define trial scopes and acceptance criteria and produce professional trial reports.
· Trial Management: Execute trials and demos to achieve desired outcomes. Compile trial reports for product management and sales teams.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Educational Background: Academic degree in biological engineering, biotechnology, or a related life sciences field.
· Industry Familiarity: Experience with life science application experiment technology and awareness of current research trends are beneficial.
· Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the industry is preferred.
· Product Knowledge: Acquaintance with related products, laboratory processes, and equipment.
· Learning and Expertise: Strong learning capabilities and a well-established knowledge base in the relevant area.
· Interfacing Skills: Competence in effectively interfacing with product, project, and division management.
· Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
· Customer Focus: A strong orientation towards customer service.
· Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated software skills, such as Microsoft Office.
· Language Skills: Fluency in English. German or Spanish language skills a plus.
