We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Dispatcher to join our Trucking department. The position will support a small fleet of local Los Angeles County 'Final-Mile' delivery trucks. An individual must have +2 years of experience in similar positions with other companies in the cargo/logistics field, working with airlines at LAX airport for recovery and delivery. Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Department.
Job Responsibilities:  Assisting the Dispatch Manager in day-to-day operations.  Scheduling and dispatching drivers to make deliveries or collect shipments and packages.  Communicating with customers about shipment details, such as delivery or pickup times, and any kind of special handling requests that are needed  Communicating route changes to drivers as needed  Preparing dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices  Preparing work orders for crew or receiving work orders from work crews  Keeping track of dispatch calls, drivers routes, route changes, deliveries, pickups, and drop-offs.  Tracking transportation regulations and laws and ensuring that drivers are following them  Examining driver log files for arrival and departure times  Logging customer shipping schedules and handling customer service issues as they arise.  Billing of trucking services and completion of invoices  Using telephones, two-way radios, or text messages to contact driver
Qualifications:  2 years of experience in Dispatch (Cargo/Freight) or related roles is required.  Experience in F/F operations (Plus)  Customer service oriented  Attention to detail  Problem solving attitude  Active Listening  Telephone Etiquette  Basic Computer Skills  Basic Software Skills (Ms. Office & Ms. Excel)  Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
