American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in the Corporate Payments Solutions space and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. To maintain success, accelerating sales and driving profitable growth are critical to the organization. The Sales Enablement, Pricing and Transformation (SPT) team is critical in supporting these objectives. Our SPT team is focused on powering GCS growth through the provision of informed pricing, performance planning & insights in support of the ~4,000 Sales and Account Development colleagues across the globe.
Our SPT strategy centers around enabling growth for GCS but with an expert eye on margin, efficiency & control. We look to not only set the operating terms for the organization but also to help the organization achieve against those terms.
The primary responsibility of the Manager will be to directly liaise with senior leadership teams across the Sales and Account Development functions in both the Global & Large Enterprise and MM segments in the U.S. This role will focus on structuring local, regional, and global deals for new prospects and existing clients that ensure long term profitable growth across the range of GCS products and develop portfolio analytics.
In addition to the above custom deal pricing responsibilities, the selected candidate will partner with the GCS Product team to influence new product pricing strategies as well as support the global Business Transformation plan through identification of pricing actions aimed at optimizing GCS pre-tax income.
This position is fast-paced, critical decision oriented and requires a candidate who thrives on working in an energetic, client facing environment, excelling at building business partner relationships.
Responsibilities:  Perform financial assessment & structure deals with the objective of balancing higher market share & portfolio profitability goals  Partner with Sales and Account Development teams on a winning pricing strategy  Communicate the impact of proposed deals to leadership and internal customers  Work closely with GCO, Contracts Management, Controllership, Risk, and Ops Excellence on deal structures and pricing integrity/controls to implement deals effectively  Develop Business-facing marketing, product & price material to enable and launch go-to-market price proposals  Seek out synergies across the broader SPT organization to further integrate performance planning data/processes with pricing activities  Partner with the GCS Finance team to forecast the P&L impacts of pricing decisions as well as to deliver new pricing frameworks that drive profit enhancing outcomes  Monitor and extract insights from the competitive & regulatory environment and assess impacts on pricing strategy across segments  Support the business in client meetings as required
Minimum Qualifications
 5+ years of experience in business/financial analysis, banking, consulting or related experience
 Pro-active, energetic self-starter with ability to think strategically
 Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
 Strategic problem solver with an ability to convert and articulate complex financials into a clear story
 Proven ability to partner across multiple business functions, build relationships and influence decisions
 Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and matrixed environment
 Comfortable juggling multiple high priority projects
 Proficient in Excel and Powerpoint
 Bachelors Degree required (Finance or related field)
Preferred Qualifications
 MBA or other professional qualification a plus
 Balance stakeholder initiatives alongside pricing initiatives
 Understanding of commercial payments industry and economics
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
