THE POSITION
The Developmental Specialist Assistant (DSA) assists with the supervision of developmental therapy, adult day health and supported living services provided to participants, ensuring quality and safety. The DSA also provides direct services for participants as needed, trains and supervises Direct Support Professionals, assists the Developmental Specialist (DS) with developmental assessments, and the development and implementation of individual program plans for participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 Maintains DDA compliance with Health & Welfare and Medicaid Rules and Regulations
 Participate in meetings when requested by the client and families
 Acts as primary contact for developmental therapy for client's, families, and other professionals involved
 Participate in IEP and or ISP meetings when requested
 Provides individual and group developmental therapy (including transporting clients) as needed
 Ensures that individuals receiving services are treated with dignity and respect
 Assists Program Director with reviewing client data as assigned
 Assists Program Director with review and completion of developmental assessments ensuring completion prior to services beginning
 Maintain contact with families and document such contacts
 Communicate with staff to provide initial and ongoing training & updates as needed and/or requested
 Completes general supervision & observations of staff, as assigned
Qualifications
 High School Diploma/GED
 One (1) year experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities
 Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications
 Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently
 Experience with Microsoft Office and Google platforms
 Ability to work at a fast pace and in many different environments
 Have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and car insurance
 Must provide or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by RISE)
 Must be able to pass a background check
