Key Responsibilities
 **ICD-10 Coding:** Accurately assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes to patient encounters based on medical documentation and established coding guidelines.
 **Claim Submission:** Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance payers in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant payer requirements.
 **Claim Follow-Up:** Monitor the status of claims, addressing any rejections, denials, or pending issues to ensure prompt payment processing.
 **Payment Posting:** Ensure accurate posting of payments, adjustments, and denials into the billing system while reconciling with billed amounts and agreements.
 **Registration Issue Resolution:** Tackle registration-related challenges including insurance verification, demographic updates, and eligibility discrepancies to maintain accurate billing and claims processing.
 **Appeal Claims:** Review denied claims, determine denial reasons, and prepare appeals for resubmission to insurance payers.
 **Reconciliation:** Regularly reconcile accounts receivable, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to resolve outstanding balances.
 **Compliance:** Remain updated on current billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer policies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
 Over 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding, with proficiency in ICD-10 coding guidelines and procedures.
 Expertise in electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
 In-depth understanding of insurance billing processes, including submission, follow-up, and appeals.
 Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to effectively address billing and coding issues.
 Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in data entry and documentation.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interactions with patients, insurance payers, and internal teams.
 Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent is required.
