Are you a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction and utilities? Do you have a knack for numbers and a keen eye for detail? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking an Estimator with a focus on Civil/Utilities in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for various civil construction and utility projects. You will play a crucial role in the financial planning of construction projects, including electrical infrastructure, telecommunications construction, lighting improvements, and industrial projects. This is a full-time permanent position requiring at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities: Â Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction and utility projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related costs. Â Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate. Â Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to aid in estimate preparation. Â Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates. Â Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they meet project specifications and budget. Â Participate in the negotiation and awarding of contracts. Â Maintain a comprehensive cost estimating database for future reference and cost analysis. Â Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding cost estimation and project financial status. Â Stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in the construction industry.
Qualifications: Â A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the civil construction and utilities sector. Â Proven experience with electrical infrastructure, telecommunications construction, lighting improvements, and industrial projects. Â BachelorÂs degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Â Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements. Â Exceptional numerical skills and the ability to create detailed and accurate cost estimates. Â Proficient in cost estimating software and other relevant computer applications. Â Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Â Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Â Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Â Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Â Professional certification in cost estimation or project management will be an added advantage.
