Responsibilities of Assistant Retail Manager - Sales Associate:

 Assists the manager in designing and carrying out strategies to enhance operating results
 A supervisor ensures that their subordinates have a clear understanding of their job responsibilities and performance expectations through effective communication
 Spots attainable learning and development opportunities to foster improved performance among their team members
 understands the organization's wide-ranging strategy, then disseminates and embodies the company's core values to create an atmosphere of unity and purpose among employees
 Scrutinizes competitive trends in the surrounding area and reports any needed modifications to the company's competitive position to the immediate supervisor
 Shares feedback with the direct leader about products, giving suggestions on which ones to add or discontinue
 Collaborates in conducting interviews for potential store team members
 In order to maintain transparency and keep everyone on the same page, we provide weekly updates concerning our project development, including our team's milestones, new developments, and any concerns that may affect the project
 Discourages non-compliance with inventory procedures, cash control policies, and product handling guidelines among store personnel to prevent losses
 When their direct supervisor is not available, they ensure that customer concerns related to operational activities are resolved satisfactorily
 Our dedication to safety extends to both our customers and our employees, because we understand that maintaining a safe work environment leads to better business outcomes
 Ensures the store is clean and orderly, and all signage is appropriately positioned
 Supports the direct leader in managing inventory levels through accurate inventory ordering to maintain the appropriate levels
 To increase sales profits, merchandise must be presented in a visually appealing and organized fashion that catches customer's attention
 Guarantees that the items are always fresh and of top quality, and that the labeling is exact and truthful
 Assists the supervisor in attaining store financial targets by maintaining labor costs and reducing losses, performing stock checks, and providing guidance to new hires
 Supervises the everyday functioning of their team, escalating concerns to the appropriate level of assistance and/or management, as and when needed
 Ensures that direct reports carry out their responsibilities on time and effectively in order to provide the highest level of customer service for the organization
 Adheres to all established company protocols and procedures while maintaining the confidentiality and security of vital records and sensitive data

Physical Demands of Assistant Retail Manager - Sales Associate:
 Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
 Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store
Qualifications of Assistant Retail Manager - Sales Associate:
 Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
 Ability to establish goals, guide employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of work assignments
 Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
 Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
 Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
 Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties to company standards
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail
 Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
 High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
 A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
 A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
 Prior management experience preferred
 You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
 Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
 Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
 Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports
