Job summary
Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon's long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? It's Day 1 for Amazon's next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Senior Finance Manager to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, manufacturing and FP&A, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to build and articulate financial results and analytical insights to senior business and finance leaders. You will be familiar with managing finances for government funded programs, including compliance with government accounting standards. You will be familiar with Earned Value metrics (EVM) and management. You will be entrepreneurial by nature, analytical in approach, have a demonstrated ability to develop financial models that provide intelligence for business decisions and be able to leverage your project management skills to drive business objectives. This role requires a self-starter with superb business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a track record of being an advisor to the business. The candidate must have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies (including statistical concepts) while dealing with big data and be able to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.
An additional location for this role includes the Amazon offices located in Seattle, WA or Redmond, WA.
Key job responsibilities
 Be the finance leader in the development and input of proposals, work breakdown structures, and work package plans
 Manage, prepare, administer, and direct the control of the budget for large and/or complex programs
 Develop, implement and report on key financial and operating metrics and performance indicators to measure overall business performance, conduct regular internal and external review meetings and provide insights to finance and business leadership
 Perform analyses and reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
 Build a team by identifying, hiring, developing, and retaining exceptional talent
 Engage with executive leadership, specifically finance and business VPs and directors
 Use your project management skills to build new and improve existing processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
 12+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
 Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
 Security Clearance: Candidates must have active US Government security clearance of TS/SCI (with polygraph preferred) and be able to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, so you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 Ability to ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and internal estimating requirements (Specifically FAR 15.408, Table 15-2)
 Direct experience in Government contracting to include working with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) experience with
 Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS), FAR and United States Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
 Experience with building Cost Estimates and supporting analysis for Government customers (ie: DoD, NASA, IC, etc).
 Experience submitting invoices to government customers
 Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Cost Estimating certification
 Strengths in attention to detail, project management and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously in an ambiguous environment
 Able to influence others without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the organization
 MBA/CMA or equivalent is helpful, but not required
