This position is structured as a 6 month contract-to-hire and is fully remote (however, client is only considering local resources; DC/MD/VA)
The Digital Media Training and Development Lead creates, maintains, and delivers specialized courses and learning tools to both external clients and internal staff with the intention of disseminating knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks while capitalizing on digital platforms such as Learning Management Software, YouTube, SharePoint, and media platforms. The T&D Lead acts in a strategic rather than reactive way in assessing the skills and knowledge of the intended training recipients in determining what training is needed to grow, retain information and change the behavior of participants. Leads a team of 2-3 training and development specialists.
Responsibilities And Duties
The Training and Development Lead will need to:
 Have previous real-world experience in designing, creating, and publishing videos and content multiple media platforms
 Identify training and development needs within an organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and leadership
 Become sufficiently familiar with topics as to become a Subject Matter Expert to better train the travel community
 Create, edit, and enhance graphics within multiple formats to obtain images that work within branding guidelines and work with Adult Learning Theory
 Independently research and obtain needed job information without the need of formal step-by-step training on all required topics
 Design and expand training and development programs based on the needs of the organization
 Obtain and /or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media
 Work in a team to produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties
 Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
 Be an expert in classroom and virtual classroom instruction
 Work with technical, legal and SME staff to make products more effective to use and thus need fewer instructions
 Organize and write supporting documents for products
 Standardize content across platforms and media
 Conduct ADDIE appraisals
 Devise individual learning plans
 Produce training materials including presentations and job aids for new and existing courses
 Edit existing digital presentations/trainings to conform to requested changes
 Manage the delivery of training and development programs
 Monitor and review the progress of trainees
 Ensure that statutory training requirements are met
 Evaluate training and development programs
 Assist managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
 Ensure 508 compliance in the majority of produced trainings
 Have an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, be involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages
 Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and present this research.
 Prior experience leading small teams
Required Skills/Experience:
 English in both written and spoken format
 E-learning creation and maintenance
 All aspects of designing, creating, and publishing videos on YouTube and other media platforms
 Adult learning theory
 Current Microsoft Office products including MS Excel and PowerPoint
 Current Adobe products such as Acrobat Pro, Captivate, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.
 HTML5 and SCORM requirements
 General computer technology
 Team collaboration to achieve multiple or singular goals
 Task and deadline prioritization
TRAVEL: This position may require up to 25% travel.
