What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
• Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, using modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques
• Instruct and guide patients through functional activities, including bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities
• Observe and follow treatment precautions, reporting any changes in patient responses to the appropriate medical staff
• Document daily patient interventions and services provided in the acute care setting
• Educate and train patients and caregivers, assessing their learning style preferences and responses

What Is Required (Qualifications)
• Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of two years' technical experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
• High School Education/GED or equivalent

• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
