Accounting Services Associate (100% Remote - PST Locations Only)

Our Customer is looking for an Accounting Services Associate on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote and candidates must reside in the Pacific time zone.
Responsibilities
 Provides direction, support and planning in the daily operations of a business unit responsible for the processing of accounting/billing services
 Responsible for a variety of tasks such as verifying, billing, account reconciliation, posting, computing and summarizing accounting and billing records
 Prepares financial exhibits and reports ensuring compliance with company procedures
 Identifies and corrects questionable entries of moderate complexity
 Works under limited supervision in the completion of routine work and more detailed instruction on new lines of work or special assignments.
 Identifies items for adjustments, provides data for the verification of internal consistency, completeness and mathematical accuracy of moderately complex account documents, makes adjustments as needed
 Processes corrections and cancellations within system application and ensures proper authorization.
 May verify and processes invoices, match invoices and purchase orders
 Assigns codes, identify accounts, and prepares data transaction sheets
 Receives, logs and posts financial data to manual and computerized systems
 Ensures revenues/payments are accounted for and posted according to established internal procedures and customer policy
 Analyzes and audits various accounts of moderate complexity and volume
 Researches and resolves any issues with discrepancies in payments, follows up on delinquent transactions
 Provides information to internal or external contacts on financial activities and records of moderate complexity
 May post and balance subsidiary ledgers and system output reports to the General Ledger
 Balances moderately complex General Ledger accounts
 May prepare and verify deposits
 Balances cash receipts and moderately complex accounts
 Researches and resolves any out of balance conditions that occurred during batch processing
 Assures documents being processed are included in the appropriate accounting period or batch cycle
 Acts as a resource to lower level Accounting Services Associates.
 Works in an office environment sitting at a desk, table or computer workstation for long periods of time
 May travel by car, plane or other form of transportation to attend business meetings or conferences
Must-haves
 Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
 2-4 years previous relevant work experience
 Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities, while maintaining attention to detail
 Knowledge of insurance/travel/members business practices and procedures as related to financial accounting and/or statutory requirements
 Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and concepts
 Interpersonal skills and ability to interact with others in a professional and diplomatic manner, both verbally and in writing
 Sound mathematical and analytical skills
 Sound understanding of the business units' applications
 PC skills including knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications
 Coaching and mentoring skills to assist lower level staff
