As an airline, safety is our most important principle. And our Corporate Safety team is responsible for making sure safety is top of mind in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees. Key Responsibilities:
The Manager of Corporate Safety SMS Safety Assurance is responsible for providing program oversight, training and administration for the enterprise Safety Management System.
 Support the implementation, maintenance and oversight of United's SMS and liaison with all of the operating groups and business units across United
 In addition, collaborate with other industry partners to include airports, express and codeshare partners, and service providers
 Provide oversight as part of the safety assurance function of the Part 5 rule
 Safety Management System oversight
 Provide oversight of United's SMS compliance to 14 CFR Part 5
 Support the implementation and maintenance of the SMS principles and four components:
 Safety Policy
 Safety Promotion
 Safety Risk Management
 Safety Assurance
 Ensure there is consistent, unified approach to SMS across all operating groups and business units
 Engage with industry peers to determine standard processes
 Share United's SMS with other industries and educational institutions
 Support the development and oversight of SMS training across the enterprise
 Continue to keep United's SMS on the forefront
Data Administration
 Support United's SMS with predictive data analytics and administration of SMS processes by assisting in the design and develop of statistical models and improved data collection based on the operating needs of the organization
 This position will support strategic development and maintenance of data, maintain database storage and efficiencies of large data, integrate data streams, transform and prepare data for broader usage, keep requirements consistent with network data security policies, and audit data quality
 Predictive and prescriptive analytics
 Visualize complex data
 Model intricate data algorithms
 Prepare routine/ad hoc reports
 Consult with data customers
Safety Management System Administration
 Help organize and maintain electronic records, distribution-lists and SMS reports
 Assist with the development of safety promotion communications and the maintenance of safety objectives on Flying Together

Qualifications
WhatÂs needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
 Bachelor's degree in a related field
 Position will require travel up to 25% around the United system to provide oversight and support
 4+ years in a related field with minimum of 2 or more years work experience in the field of transportation safety, aviation management or aviation safety.
 Exposure to cross-functional change management/facilitation
 Working knowledge of Safety Management System
 Working knowledge of system safety and quality management
 Working knowledge with standard documentation processes
 Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
 Proven problem solving and organizational skills
 Ability to quickly understand complex systems and explain them to varied audiences
 Ability to work independently, and handle stress in a fast paced, multi-task oriented atmosphere
 Demonstrated advanced use of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher and Visio
 Demonstrate ability to use Sitecore
 Attention to detail
 Change Management awareness
 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
 Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
 Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
 MasterÂs degree preferred
 SMS certification from MITRE or USC
 Work experience in statistics, reports and data visualization
 Work experience in administration of safety risk assessments
 Work experience in technical writing
 Work experience in project management
 Work experience in administration organization
 Working knowledge of Sitecore
 Working knowledge of ETQ (Excellence Through Quality)
 Working knowledge of Foundry (Palantir)
 Working knowledge of pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR Part 5 and Part 121), FAA Advisory Circulars, IOSA and Standards and Recommended Practices, ISO 9001 standards, CAST SE and documentation standards
 Work knowledge of IT collaboration/development with focus on user experience
 Understanding of basic project management principles
 Proficiency in facilitating cross functional groups or activities
 Root cause analysis
 Human Factors

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
