Positions in this function maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports. Reviews monthly account reconciliations and analyses, journal entries and accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles. Analyzes and prepares financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position. Involved in the monthly/quarterly 'close' process. Prepares documentation and presents support to external and internal audits. *Employees in jobs labeled with ÂSCAÂ must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.
 Manages and is accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors.

Primary Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited, to the following::
 Lead a team of Capitation accountants
 Oversee the month-end close process for their responsible area to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
 Review & approve Journal Entries and general ledger account reconciliations. Prepare and analyze sub-ledger vs main GL ledger reconciliation and investigate open items etc.
 Create, refresh and tie-out monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger reporting for capitation transactions
 Conduct variance analysis to understand deviations from plan and providing insights on corrective actions
 Solid research and analysis skills - Conduct analysis of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas of improvements
 Manage the audit process and work with Regulatory & external auditors in preparing schedules
 Provide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, Company policies, rules, regulation and laws
 Excellent communication and presentation skills - the ability to understand and interpret complex data easily to leadership
 Support various special Capitation projects as required

Required Qualifications
 Undergraduate degree, preferably in Accounting in Finance
 3+ years demonstrated progression in financial reporting and analysis
 2+ years of supervisory experience
 Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, as well as proficiency in other Office applications
 Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines
 Solid working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management to drive sound business decisions
 Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Proven advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data
Preferred Qualifications
 CPA/CMA or other equivalent licensure or certification
 Power BI, Power Query

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
