HR Services Payroll Analyst

The payroll analyst position will be responsible for all aspects of processing payroll to ensure a timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related reporting for all Home Depot associates in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam.
Key Responsibilities:  25% Administer a high volume weekly payroll process utilizing a computer based system  20% Collect, analyze, update, and reconcile payroll and benefit data on a weekly basis  15% Serve as liaison between users, vendors, and I.T. to research and resolve issues  15% Create and implement auditing tools to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local authorities, and to eliminate erroneous payments  10% Contribute to SOX audit compliance  15% Frequently review error logs and transactions to ensure system is running as required
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
 Position reports to the Sr. HR Services Business Analyst
 No direct responsibility for supervising others
Travel Requirements: Â Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements: Â Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
 Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications: Â Must be eighteen years of age or older. Â Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:  Extensive experience in gross-to-net payroll, state and federal pay rule calculations and payroll regulations  Familiarity with Tesseract HR/Payroll System  CPP is preferrred.  Canada Payroll and Pay Rule processing is preferred  Expatriate and Foreign National payroll processing is preferred
Minimum Education:
 The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Competencies:
 Solid understanding of payroll principles, practices, and standards.
 At least 3 years recent experience administering a complete high volume multi-state payroll process for a large company.
 Strong Analytical Skills.
 Strong oral and written communication skills.
 Detailed oriented and strong follow up skills.
