Are you passionate about scaling nature-based solutions and emerging removal technologies to combat climate change? As the Carbon Removal Lead on Apple's Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives team, you will lead the team driving development and implementation of projects and partnerships which remove otherwise unavoidable emissions from AppleÂs scope 3 footprint.
You will partner closely with internal teams as well as external partners and vendors to execute on AppleÂs carbon removal commitments to meet its 2030 goal. This includes working with direct reports to assess the environmental and social impacts of project investments as well cross-functional engagement with finance, tax, legal and operational teams to execute on complex transactions globally.

- You will lead the team working with cross-functional environmental, operations, procurement, finance, government affairs and legal teams to champion, drive, and coordinate carbon removal projects (and avoided emissions projects as allowed by Apple policies).
- You will lead, manage, execute and implement strategic deals with external partners and project developers, providing technical assistance and deal support.
- Manage, track and present program performance metrics to leadership.
- Contribute to publicizing AppleÂs progress in decarbonizing our supply chain, influencing and working with other leading companies to pursue similar goals.

 Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in environmental science, economics/business, supply chain management or other technical/scientific field
 Experience in/with carbon offset markets and in particular nature-based solutions
 Experience structuring and executing complex international carbon removal transactions
 People management experience
 At least 10 years of relevant experience

 Advanced degree or equivalent experience in an environmental field and/or economics/business
 Strong and demonstrated understanding of forestry, other nature-based solutions and other carbon removal mechanisms
 Strong understanding of global supply chains and supply chain management, including demonstrated acumen in deal execution
 Experience with sustainability and environmental topics and fundamentals (such as: sustainable design, planning policy, waste, carbon/energy, responsible sourcing, water, land use change, biodiversity, and certification systems)
 Leadership experience: working in and building cross-functional teams, resolving issues, building consensus and working towards agreements during the entire project lifecycle, as well as after the initial project phases are complete
 Ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships across the organization
 Experience interacting with interdisciplinary project teams and international partners
 Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment, to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and executives
 Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information in a concise way to a non-technical audience, and vice versa
 Ability to manage and organize multiple projects with competing priorities and different timescales (i.e.: checkpoints with long-term goals while completing shorter term goals)
 Experience with data visualization and data analysis
 Creative and analytical problem solver
 Ability to make decisions with 80% information
 Poise when confronted with sudden setbacks and working at high pace

 At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,300 and $326,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
