Job Description
Underwrites small size cases for new and renewal business developing proposals, add-on business and contract revisions, and other policy owner services within limited authority levels under minimal supervision. Continually utilizing underwriting methods, formulas and techniques necessary for financial analysis and manual rate development. Working in greater detail with the various products through contract reviews, requested plan designs and benefit options with increased communication between sales and other internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
 Prepare proposals and/or offer information and coordinate final proposal presentation, including preparation of all required exhibits.
 Respond timely and accurately to requests made to the underwriting team while maintaining positive relationships with our internal and external customers through effective written and verbal communication skills
 Develop credibility with sales force, brokers, as well as internal and external customers.
 Using ABÂs workflow management tools, thoroughly document thought processes to support decisions
 Analyze all data related to the risk for small cases, to determine what benefits, if any, can be offered and at what cost (rating)
 Review and manipulate census data for input into various rating tools generating manual rates
 Communicate with policy owners, applicants, brokers, agencies, and/or other sources concerning underwriting decisions and procedures.
 Reviews requests for master policy changes to determine eligibility.
 Conduct research to secure additional data needed to make determinations on benefits and premiums.
 Make case level decisions using independent judgment as well as following underwriting guidelines
Education
 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience
 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities
 This job does not have supervisory duties.

 In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $45,600.00 Â 78,337.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
