PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
The position is responsible for the instructional design, delivery of instruction and assessment of students.
QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelors or MasterÂs degree in the field of studies being taught  Indiana Teaching License Âappropriate for the assignment  Skilled in the teaching practices of Marzano or willing to learn  Experience or willingness to gain proficiency in teaching in a blended learning environment with skills related to curriculum development, instructional processes, instructional design, assessment and professional development  Experience or willingness to gain proficiency in using technology tools for learning (online tutorials, collaborations, and courseware)  Skilled at motivating learners  Able to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students  Successfully employs best practice instructional strategies with a student-centered focus  Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff, parents and community  Effectively manages a differentiated and personalized classroom
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Â Must have on file with the Personnel Office a valid copy of his/her teaching license before beginning work and shall be responsible for periodic renewal. Failure to comply with this provision will result in loss of salary. Â Implement by instruction and action the districtÂs mission and philosophy of education and the instructional goals. Â Be familiar with the state advisory documents, the State Standards in the assigned areas of study and the District Curriculum Standards appropriate to the teaching assignment. Â Maintain continuity of instruction and have good attendance to provide such instruction. Â Design and deliver engaging, challenging and relevant aligned content. Â Provide rigorous learning goals and performance scales. Â Implement best practice instructional strategies to promote student achievement in a blended learning environment. Â Utilize a variety of student performance assessment strategies, student data and standard based proficiencies to monitor student progress, achievement and differentiation of instructional strategies. Â Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative guidelines and complete reports and electronic information/data entry in a timely manner. Â Provide differentiated, personalized or individualized instruction and small group support to ensure all students are advancing at an appropriate level. Â Employ strong classroom management skills that create and maintain a positive classroom culture and provide encouraging feedback to students. Â Collaborate with course and grade based faculty teams to align curriculum assessment and share best practice instructional strategies. Â Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. Â Attend and participate in faculty, grade level, department, and other meetings. Â Promote positive interactions with colleagues and students. Â Collaborate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods. Â Participate in the before and after school training sessions specific to the teaching assignment. Â Counsel, confer with, and communicate with parents, school, and district personnel. Â Participate in and support district initiatives. Â Adhere to the Policies and Guidelines of the School Board as well as school rules and procedures. Â All other duties as assigned by the Principal.
