Multilingual Learner (MLL) Teacher

The Multilingual Learner (MLL) Teacher is responsible for supporting students who are in the process of learning English as an additional language. This position involves providing tailored instruction, developing inclusive lesson plans, and fostering a supportive environment for multilingual students to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:  Instructional Support:  Plan and deliver engaging lessons to support English language acquisition in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  Use research-based methods and strategies to differentiate instruction for students at various proficiency levels.  Incorporate students cultural backgrounds into lessons to create an inclusive and respectful learning environment.  Assessment and Monitoring:  Assess students English language proficiency using standardized assessments and informal measures.  Monitor progress and maintain accurate records to inform instruction and report outcomes to stakeholders.  Collaboration:  Work closely with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and provide accommodations for MLL students.  Collaborate with school staff, families, and community organizations to support students needs.  Compliance and Professional Development:  Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements for English Language Learner (ELL) programs.  Participate in professional development to stay updated on best practices in multilingual education.
Qualifications: Â Education: BachelorÂs degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field. MasterÂs degree preferred. Â Licensure: Valid teaching license with an ESL or MLL endorsement, as required by the state of Indiana. Â Experience: Previous experience working with multilingual learners in an educational setting is preferred.

Working Conditions:
This position involves working in a classroom setting with multilingual learners. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for parent-teacher conferences or community events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 Valid Indiana EducatorÂs Professional License
 Minimum of three year in a successful classroom experience
 Working knowledge of WIDA standards to administer test as well as relate it to the differentiated instruction need for scholars.
 Knowledge of research findings and recent trends in ELL
 Experience working in an effective inclusion and/or co-teaching environment
 Evidence of student growth and student achievement
 Successful experience in facilitating adult learning.
 Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with administrators, teachers, and staff
 The ability to use data to improve instruction
