High school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in the Korean language and a thorough understanding of Korean culture.

Preferred Qualifications
A native Korean speaker is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama is preferred.

Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama’s Modern, Classical Languages, and Literature department of is seeking to hire a Korean Language Tutor. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
• Instructs Korean language training sessions for beginning and intermediate classes.
• Schedules training sessions with students in consultation with the Program Director.
• Practices the spoken language with students.
• Reviews textbook exercises.
• Records student progress and communicates progress to students and the program Director.
• Grades national examinations as required.
• Works with an external examiner for the midterm and final oral and written exams.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Related duties as required.
