Pierce Mortuary Colleges (PMC) is searching for qualified instructors to teach Science courses (Microbiology, Anatomy, and Chemistry) on campus.
Summary
Pierce Mortuary Colleges (PMC) is seeking an individual to serve as a part-time on-site instructor for the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service Program. The instructor will facilitate courses on campus. Under general supervision, this individual will plan and implement curriculum and educational programs; communicate class content to students in a classroom environment so that learning occurs; evaluate students progress in attaining goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes; assist in retention efforts. This role is a part-time on-site position with hours between the hours of 7:00 AM-8:00 PM depending on course needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Develops course syllabus for each course assigned based on Pierce Colleges criteria. The syllabus will include learning objectives expressed in behavioral terms
 Distribute syllabus to campus administration and enrolled campus students
 Instructs the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus and catalog, relates instruction to careers and employee satisfaction and standards
 Prepare and grade exams based on course objectives and published scheduled exams, and returns all assignments/graded work in a timely manner
 Implements evaluation for outcomes assessments, and achieves established results while maintaining college standards and student satisfaction
 Work creatively in all assigned courses to keep students engaged which will increase student retention
 Provide tutorial assistance and academic advising for all students when needed
 Submit midterm and final grades at the appropriate time of the quarter
 Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
 MasterÂs degree from a regionally accredited college.
 At least eighteen graduate hours in the discipline being taught
 Experience in teaching face-to-face format. Moodle experience is a plus.
 Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, staff, and community from diverse backgrounds and commitment to a culturally diverse work environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 Evaluate, design, and implement course curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies
 Make administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive/confidential issues
 Work effectively with diverse populations
 Communicate effectively orally, in writing, and through an online platform
 Experience in teaching methods for the face-to-face delivery method of course content
 Ability to control the course in the classroom environment.
 Ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques
 Ability to gather data, analyze and make informed educational decisions
