The pay rate for the exempt, 215-day nonunion position is $88,840.

Director of Special Education and Pupil Services licensure (5080) required. Educators pending an administrator license or enrolled in an administrator license program with a projected completion date may apply for consideration. This position is considered a salaried-exempt leadership position and not an admin position.

The Special Education Coordinator is a critical member of the elementary leadership team who is charged with ensuring equity of services, opportunities and outcomes for students with disabilities. The Special Education Coordinator will work collaboratively with the administrative team, Director of Student Services, district administration, principals, special education and student support staff and teachers to plan, develop, implement and monitor educational programs to ensure the implementation of FAPE for students with disabilities. The Special Education Coordinator is a leadership position that serves as a liaison between administration, school staff, students, families, and community agencies that support students. This position provides leadership relative to special education policies and procedures, as well as effective practices relative to models of intervention targeted toward struggling students.

Key Functions

At targeted building(s):
• Provides daily coordination of structure, resources and support to students, families and staff to ensure that all students have access to a FAPE in inclusive learning environments.
• Administers the policies of the district related to special education services including ensuring the building’s compliance with all related state and federal statutes and regulations.
• In collaboration with key stakeholders, develops, monitors, and supervises special education staff and programming aimed at closing achievement and opportunity gaps for students with disabilities and reducing disproportionate representation in special education.
• In alignment with the school improvement plan and the district special education improvement plan, engages stakeholders in the development and implementation of a building special education improvement plan.
