Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and compassionate Special Education Case Manager to join our dynamic K-12 district team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home while providing crucial support and services to students with disabilities across California.

As a Special Education Case Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure the academic success and well-being of students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities: • Case Management: Oversee the development, monitoring, and updating of IEPs for a caseload of students with special needs across K-12 levels. • IEP Meetings: Lead and facilitate virtual IEP meetings, working closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the appropriate educational accommodations and modifications are in place. • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, and parents to ensure effective implementation of IEPs and student progress. • Compliance: Ensure all IEP documentation is accurate, timely, and in full compliance with state and federal regulations, including IDEA and local district policies. • Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly track student progress and provide updates to parents, school staff, and administrators. • Crisis Management: Provide support and guidance in the development of behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and assist in the management of student crises as needed. • Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities and ensure they have access to the services and resources they need to succeed.

Qualifications: • Education: Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in special education, including experience in case management, IEP development, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. • Certification: Valid California Special Education teaching credential or other relevant certification is preferred. • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and other relevant state and federal regulations. • Skills: • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment. • Comfort with technology, including IEP management systems, Zoom, and other virtual communication tools. • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with disabilities.

Additional Requirements: • Must be licensed and certified in California. • Ability to maintain a secure and confidential home office environment. • Access to reliable internet and a suitable remote work setup.
