Edgewood Baptist Church is committed to living on mission by glorifying God and making disciples of Jesus among our neighbors and the nations. The Celebrate Recovery Pastor is responsible for managing the overall Celebrate Recovery ministry and leading alongside the Celebrate Recovery Leadership Team to help provide freedom and forgiveness through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Personal Requirements:  Born-again believer with a clear testimony of saving faith in Christ  Growing in Christlikeness  Called/gifted by God for pastoral ministry  Meets biblical requirements for an Elder (1 Timothy 3:2-7; Titus 1:5-9)  Strong spiritual role model  Man of character who is competent, reliable, and has chemistry with staff  Agrees with church doctrinal statement  Fulfills obligations of church membership  Open and honest about his own recovery issues and healing process  Cleared background and reference checks
Qualifications and Ministry Skills:
 Proven ministry track record with a solid grasp and hearty endorsement of the biblical orientation and values of Edgewood
 Understands addiction and is familiar with Celebrate Recovery
 Committed to a gospel-centered recovery process
 Able to prepare and teach biblical, recovery-focused lessons
 Shepherds people through the sanctification and recovery journey with grace and truth
 Self-starter and initiative-taker
 Baseline proficiency computer skills
 Exceptional interpersonal skills
 Accomplishes tasks effectively, efficiently, and meets deadlines
 Effective communicator (verbal/written)
 Organizational management skills
 Bible school or seminary graduate preferred but not required
 Ordained or willing to be ordained
Duties and Responsibilities:  Provide pastoral care and counseling for the Celebrate Recovery Leadership Team, other key leaders in Celebrate Recovery, and participants in the ministry  Identify, develop, and nurture leaders  Help recruit, build, train, and encourage ministry teams  Work collaboratively toward the achievement of goals  Ensure all components of the ministry function optimally  Swiftly address matters and resolve problems when they arise  Regularly engage in Friday night gatherings  Actively promote the ministry within the church community and ensure Celebrate Recovery remains a vital ministry of Edgewood by serving as a liaison between church leadership and the Celebrate Recovery ministry  Prepare the Celebrate Recovery portion of the annual church budget, wisely stewarding funds allocated for the ministry  Intentionally builds bridges in the community to share the message of Celebrate Recovery with those who need it  Build relationships with local recovery organizations/agencies  Regularly meet with Administrative Pastor to ensure a close partnering in the ministry  Attend weekly pastoral staff meetings (if able)  Willingness to fulfill other pastoral duties as requested
Professional Development:
 Stay updated on best practices and new developments in Celebrate Recovery (nationally and locally)
 Each year, read one book and attend one conference or seminar (online or in person) related to this position
 Attend monthly Edgewood All Staff meeting
 Lead Professional Development time at an Edgewood All Staff meeting once per year
