About The Job
As a part-time Strategic Accounting Projects Contractor, you will support our team on our most complex projects for 50-100 hours per month. Your day-to-day will include onboarding new clients (including historical clean-up), researching technical accounting topics and drafting memos, implementing accounting process improvements, leading basic systems implementations, preparing our clients for financial statement audits and due diligence, completing financial reporting and analysis, and executing month-end accounting responsibilities (complex account reconciliation, lease accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, etc.).
You will be a primary point of contact with your clients and viewed as an extension of their team. Internally, you will support and report directly to our Projects Director. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and being deadline-oriented are a must. This role requires someone who is not only technically competent but also empathetic and emotionally intelligent.
Qualifications
 Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, accounting concepts and financial statements
 Experience drafting technical accounting memos
 Master of Microsoft Excel
 Detail oriented
 Critical thinker and problem solver
 Strong interpersonal skills
 Tenacious and energized by challenges, learning and growth
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to manage multiple projects to completion simultaneously
 Organized and skilled at time management and project planning
 Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
 At least Ten (10) years of accounting experience required
 CPA or equivalent licensure preferred
 Big Four / Public Accounting experience preferred
 Experience working with startups and / or middle market companies preferred

Our team is located in Denver, Colorado with clients distributed across the United States. This role can be based anywhere in the United States.
Compensation
$80 - $100 per hour depending on experience
 This is a 1099 contractor position*
Term
February 2025 through May or June 2025 initial term, with options to extend.
