What youÂll be responsible for:
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Innovations Officer, the Senior Vice President, Compliance Officer (SVP) is responsible for leading Access TeleCareÂs Corporate Compliance Program, providing oversight and direction for all activities related to the development, implementation, communication and maintenance of the program. The SVP has authority to carry out all compliance responsibilities and is responsible for ensuring Access TeleCare maintains business integrity and that all applicable processes, trainings and policies are designed to ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare program requirements.
The SVP works collaboratively with the Data Privacy Officer (who oversees IT, HIPAA, and Privacy) and with other related departments including legal, human resources, information security, revenue cycle, credentialing/licensure/privileging, clinical quality, and accounting. Additionally, the SVP provides regular reports and information to the CompanyÂs leadership and at least quarterly to the Board of Directors.
What youÂll work on:
 Responsible for the overall leadership, management and direction of the CompanyÂs Compliance Program
 Create, implement and regularly review and update policies and procedures designed to meet the compliance requirements of the Company, federal healthcare programs or other applicable fraud and abuse agencies
 Work collaboratively with the Data Privacy Officer and other departments
 Lead the Compliance team and oversee the tactical day-to-day operation of the compliance department
 Ensure monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting as appropriate to the Board of Directors, Company Compliance Committee, and Company leadership
 Ensure compliance reporting, hotline maintenance, education and documentation activities are efficiently and effectively completed and that encourage employees, leadership, contractors, and physicians to report suspected fraud or other improprieties without the fear of retaliation
 Review, at least annually, the implementation and execution the Company Compliance Program in accordance with OIG and industry standards, including an assessment of each of the basic elements individually and the overall success of the program, and a comprehensive review of the compliance department
 Develop, coordinate and deliver awareness campaigns and, educational/training programs with the goal of ensuring that all appropriate personnel are knowledgeable about, and act in accordance with, the CompanyÂs Compliance Program and all pertinent federal and state requirements
 Define the necessary level of knowledge on existing and emerging regulatory compliance requirements across the organization
 Act as a consultative resource and strategic partner on compliance and ethics matters. Advise leadership on issues concerning compliance, ethics and privacy/security matters including recommending controls designed to ensure compliance. Provide subject matter expertise on healthcare regulatory, security and clinical matters (Including HIPAA, Fraud & Abuse, Stark, Anti Kickback Statute, HITRUST, The Joint Commission, DEA requirements, clinician scope of practice.)
 Respond to alleged violations of relevant Company policies and procedures and/or local, state, and federal laws or regulations including conducting or overseeing regulatory compliance investigations, when appropriate
 Stay abreast of relevant laws, rules, regulations, and industry best practices and advise Company on the same while creating or modifying policies and trainings to adhere to any relevant enactments or changes
 Implement corrective actions and monitoring in response to identified issues and audits, including but not limited to assisting with revenue cycle, credentialing/licensure/privileging, The Joint Commission, and HITRUST related audits and surveys
 Manage Compliance team (1-2 direct reports)
 Other duties as assigned
What youÂll bring to Access TeleCare:
 BachelorÂs Degree in a related field
 A minimum of (10) ten years of experience in a compliance department of a healthcare Company
 Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
 Ability to understand, interpret and apply complex state and federal health care compliance laws, rules, regulations and guidelines and related governing boards and agencies
 Proven ability to successfully navigate and thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment with an eagerness to drive results
 A "hands-on" individual who understands the need for involvement at all levels of activity within a growing and dynamic Company environment
 Familiarity with compliance issues related to the telemedicine space including but not limited to relevant laws, rules, and regulations and billing and coding requirements. Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. healthcare fraud and abuse laws.
 In-depth working knowledge of current HIPAA and HITECH privacy regulations and other pertinent and applicable federal and state regulations related to protected health information and provisions of healthcare services is required, along with experience implementing such regulations
 Experience in identifying compliance training needs and developing, designing and facilitating compliance training
 Extensive experience in conducting and oversight of investigations.
 Experience deploying a Compliance Program in an organization and managing others

 Ability to apply a risk-based analysis to compliance issues and demonstrate creativity and flexibility in developing solutions that satisfy both business requirements and legal obligation
 Strong understanding of healthcare coding, billing, and documentation standards as well as revenue cycle processes and procedures
 Travel, as needed, for corporate and board meetings and business needs
 Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
