As a Controller, you will serve as the outsourced financial leader for multiple nonprofit clients, providing hands-on guidance in accounting and financial management. Skills
 A genuine passion for working with or supporting nonprofit organizations
 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with multiple general ledger packages, especially QuickBooks
 Strong experience in public accounting, consulting, or nonprofit accounting is highly valued
 Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
 Ability to manage multiple clients, work independently, and meet deadlines in a timely manner
Responsibilities
 Serve as the Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients, providing outsourced financial leadership and guidance
 Develop and present financial reports to management and boards, facilitating decision-making and strategy
 Recommend and implement improvements in accounting systems, internal controls, operations, and compliance, ensuring alignment with client goals
 Oversee transactional activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, month-end close, and maintaining workpapers
 Perform budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, offering valuable insights for clients
 Manage grant allocations, funder reporting, and other nonprofit-specific financial tasks
 Prepare clients for annual audits and ensure smooth audit management
 Provide training and support for both clients and staff to build stronger financial teams
Qualifications
 BachelorÂs degree required (preferably in Accounting or Finance)
 5-7+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on nonprofit organizations preferred
 Experience working remotely is a plus
 CPA certification is a plus but not required
