Housing Case Manager - Remote | Work From Home

Position Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Housing Case Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in assisting individuals and families in their transition from homelessness to stable housing. With a focus on community engagement, you will manage a moderate caseload, delivering personalized transitional care and support. This role combines remote work with in-person interactions to ensure optimal service delivery to vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify and develop housing inventory for agency programs.
• Establish and nurture relationships with property managers and landlords to enhance housing options.
• Conduct housing inspections adhering to HUD Housing Habitability standards.
• Execute housing utility inspections and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Generate rent reasonableness reports compliant with HUD standards.
• Verify monthly client rent payments.
• Assist case managers and clients with housing applications, searches, and connections.
• Uphold ethical standards reflecting our core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect, and responsibility.
• Foster an environment of openness, honesty, and accountability among colleagues, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Accept personal responsibility for the performance of duties.
• Safeguard the confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

Required Skills
• Strong customer and client relations abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
• In-depth understanding of HUD housing inspections and reporting.
• Familiarity with the housing rental market and property management.
• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication with professionalism and tact.
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality of client information and work-related materials.

Qualifications
• Valid California Driver's License with eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housing case management or a related field is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the housing rental environment and property management.

Compensation And Benefits
• Hourly Rate: (22 to )25 per hour.
