In this role, you will serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients, transforming their financial departments to help them meet their mission. You will be responsible for financial reporting for management and Board decision-making, recommending and implementing improvements to accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance policies. Your duties will also include transactional activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. Additionally, you will engage in analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting, grant management, and prepare for and manage annual audits. We are looking for a dedicated, personable, hands-on Controller who is comfortable working with multiple clients both virtually and on-site. You will interact regularly with clients, their staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees, providing transformative accounting services that support their strategic goals.
Responsibilities
 Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients.

 Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.

 Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations.

 Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures.

 Handle transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

 Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting.

 Manage grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.

 Prepare for and manage annual audits.

 Provide client and staff training opportunities.
Requirements
 Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
,
 5-7 plus years accounting experience.
,
 Experience working in a remote environment preferred.
,
 Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis.
,
 Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
,
 Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems.

 Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required.

 CPA certification is a plus.
,
 Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus.
Nice-to-haves
 Experience in nonprofit accounting or consulting is a plus.

 Familiarity with various GL packages and electronic bill pay systems.
