Job Description
The Principal Clinical Program Pharmacist is responsible for providing clinical drug evaluation in support of formulary development strategies and PrimeÂs National Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee. The role will require evidence based clinical research, preparation of clinical documents including drug reviews, and delivering clinical presentations. The position involves collaboration with other departments including Utilization Management and Trade.
Responsibilities
 Proficiently retrieve and evaluate clinical literature including clinical trial publications, treatment guidelines, and FDA publications
 Develop and prepare clinical documents including written drug monographs, drug class reviews, and formulary chapter reviews as part of the PrimeÂs National P&T Committee process
 Deliver clinical presentations to internal clinical committees and other audiences as needed
 Provide evidence based clinical evaluations to help support formulary strategies and in collaboration with various teams including Trade, Utilization Management, and Specialty
 Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
 Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy Degree
 Current pharmacist license in good standing with State Board of Pharmacy
 3 years of relevant work experience in a retail, hospital, clinical and/or managed care setting, including at least 2 years of work experience in a clinical and/or managed care setting
 Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
 Exceptional communication skills; excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to convey clinical information to diverse audiences
 Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under pressure with strict timelines
 Ability to work well in a team environment
 Proficiency in office productivity software and tools (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
Preferred Qualifications
 Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
 Experience supporting P&T Committees
 Broad experience in or exposure to formulary management within a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or health plan
Minimum Physical Job Requirements
 Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
 Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
 Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
 Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Reporting Structure
 Reports to Senior Director in the Formulary Development department
Potential pay for this position ranges from $109,000.00 Â $174,000.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
