Key Responsibilities
 Generate consolidated financial statements and related notes in compliance with US GAAP.
 Create and assess US GAAP accounting documentation and journal entries.
 Reconcile underwriting accounts from the general ledger to source documentation.
 Review investment reconciliations to ensure consistency between the general ledger and Clearwater reports.
 Analyze and communicate financial outcomes to management effectively.
 Guarantee adherence to established accounting processes, policies, and controls.
 Cultivate relationships with both internal and external auditors to meet GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
 Propel process enhancements to boost efficiency in financial statement support and footnote detailing.
 Lead or assist with investment accounting initiatives.
 Establish and uphold internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with policies and workflows.
 Remain informed about relevant accounting regulations and standards, ensuring strict compliance.
 Contribute to the development of investment strategies and offer aligned recommendations.
 Aid in supplying investment data for compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
 Assess and justify investment managers, custodians, and associated fees.
 Prepare appraisals, schedules, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
 Collaborate across various departments including Underwriting, Finance, Capital, and Legal.
 Participate in audit and risk committee meetings.
 Oversee local liquidity management and the coordination of capital within the organization.
 Manage internal loan documentation and coordinate with the group controller regarding banking covenants.
 Engage with banking partners to explore liquidity products and solutions.
 Occasionally assist with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tasks.
Required Skills
 In-depth knowledge of investment products and their accounting treatment across various asset classes.
 Proficiency in US GAAP, particularly in the preparation of financial statements.
 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
 Familiarity with capital, debt, and currency markets, along with investment KPIs and ratios.
Qualifications
 CPA, ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent certification is mandatory.
 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
 A minimum of 2 years' experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
 At least 5 years' experience in financial reporting under US GAAP; preference for candidates with a Big 4 background.
