The Underwriting/Operations Assistant supports the underwriting team by creating policy documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing operational support. This role is essential for maintaining accurate electronic underwriting files and facilitating the renewal process for insurance transactions.
Responsibilities
 Create policy documents representing the insurance transaction bound by the underwriter.

 Create or renew Federal and state filings documents, both electronic and physical as required.

 Ensure statistical coding and policy issuance complies with regulatory requirements for each insurance transaction.

 Process Additions/Deletions Endorsements.
,
 Produce non-premium and premium endorsements adding basic forms (waivers, additional insureds, loss payees).
,
 Maintain electronic and/or physical underwriting files.
,
 Re-format data for import into front end system as necessary.
,
 Provide basic operational support for the product line's underwriters.
,
 Email copies of policies as requested by Claims Help.
,
 Assist in other duties and projects as needed.
Requirements
 Typically requires a high school diploma; Associates degree preferred.
,
 2+ years of related experience for consideration or equivalent level of education and experience.
,
 Ability to follow operations procedures as outlined by the Operations Manager.
,
 Ability to meet processing deadlines with minimal error.
,
 Ability to manage a variety of projects, both long- and short-term simultaneously.
,
 Ability to use database software including Windows operating systems, computer network environment and printers to process insurance policy changes.
,
 Accurate data entry.
,
 Some product lines require excellent Excel skills for re-formatting and data cleansing of large spreadsheets.
Nice-to-haves
 Experience in the insurance industry.

 Familiarity with underwriting processes and procedures.
