As a VP, UX Strategist at Synchrony, you will join SynchronyÂs scaled agile teams and partner with CX, marketing, development, and process owners to conceptualize and develop engaging web, mobile, and tablet experiences for our strategically significant core customer-facing applications. The candidate will be responsible for leading the conceptualization and exploration of high-profile projects by collaborating with stakeholders, synthesizing competitive and research data, running design sprints, creating and presenting high-level designs and collaborating with user researchers, designers and programmers. Additionally, the candidate will act as a champion for user experience by providing thought leadership.

Essential Responsibilities:  Apply design thinking methodologies with product owners and leaders to help shape product strategy, clarify requirements, and define and scope UX activities  Coordinate and drive collaboration with stakeholders from multiple departments to conceptualize and iterate on large-scale, high profile complex projects out in front of agile team rhythms  Organize & facilitate design sprints and workshops to drive ideation and consensus  Engage with UX research to assist in initiating, planning and running tests and applying results to design  Review and incorporate competitive, market or user research data into strategies and designs  Present to and persuade executives, leaders and agile teams to accept UX strategy and recommendations  Ensure that all designs balance user needs with business objectives, partner requirements, and technical feasibility  Ideate on and champion new experiences  Work closely with channel designers during exploration and testing phases  Develop user flows, site maps, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes of responsive web user interfaces (UI) as needed for handoff to channel designers  Act as an advocate for the end userÂs experience  Collaborate effectively with remote team members and managers  Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned  Mentor junior level designers, interns and/or BLPs  Bring a strong positive attitude to project and UX teams  Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:  BachelorÂs or associateÂs degree in UI/UX, HCI, graphic design, psychology, marketing, information technology, or similar area. In lieu of degree, a High School Diploma/GED, related certification and 8+ years of related work experience.  Minimum of 6 years of experience in user experience, information architecture, user experience architecture, or interaction design  Strong understanding of user centered design, design thinking and related methodologies  Strong understanding of internet-based technologies and systems  Strong communication, time management, collaboration, and organizational skills  Expertise in modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Suite and/or similar tools  Willingness to travel to Synchrony offices for team & business meetings.

 MasterÂs degree in UI/UX, HCI, graphic design, psychology, marketing, information technology, or similar area
 Experience in a strategy or senior design exploration role
 Experience working on agile teams
 Experience working in eCommerce and/or Financial IndustryÂ

Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:  You must be 18 years or older  You must have a high school diploma or equivalent  You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process  You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.  New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you donÂt meet the time in position or performance expectations).
