PIP/Medical Payment Adjuster

We are seeking a self-starter who is a seasoned adjuster. You must have strong customer service, organizational, verbal and written skills as well as the ability to work in a remote team environment. The position will require handling Personal Injury Protection claims primarily in New Jersey with a background and knowledge in New York claim handling rules and regulations. A background in New Jersey and New York PIP arbitration/litigation is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Is familiar and ensures adherence to the New Jersey guidelines and regulations along with policy provisions
· Receives new claims on a daily basis which includes maintaining an effective diary system and is able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks including incoming calls, review of mail and payment of medical bills on a timely basis
· Ability to identify coverage issues and complete timely investigations to facilitate prompt and proper coverage determinations. This includes working with our Special Investigation Unit and defense counsel when coverage issues arise.
· Evaluate potential serious injury claims and elevate to management once identified
 Familiar with the New Jersey fee schedule for payment of claims along with the decision point review and pre-certification process
 Ensures all files are consistent and are in adherence to company and state policies and procedures
Education:
 BachelorÂs degree required or equivalent work experience may be considered
License/Certification:
 Valid state adjuster license(s) where required
Experience:
 Minimum 3 years automobile PIP/Medical Payments claims specifically in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York.
 Multi-Jurisdictional claims experience preferred
 Excellent skills and experience interpreting policy language and state statutes
 Proven track record of making sound coverage decisions
Other skills and abilities:
 Proficient in utilizing MS Office and other computer software
 Excellent verbal and written communications skills
 Ability to manage time while prioritizing multiple tasks
 Ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult customers
 Ability to gather and analyze information
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
