Engineering Manager, Quality Assurance

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and maturing the Quality Assurance team while gaining understanding of existing and new products' features to assist in development and maintenance of test environments, test procedures, and test executions. Work with an experienced and capable technical team conceiving, creating, and testing the next generation of irrigation devices and connected systems. Responsibilities
 Drive high value to the business by ensuring QA strategy and activity aligns with business goals, by developing the QA organization and process in high collaboration with product and platform teams.
 Manage and lead a cross-organizational distributed team including internal and external resources in multiple time zones.
 Support agile teams including platform teams who are continuously delivering
 Support agile device new product development teams with waterfall style production release criteria
 Support sustaining and quality improvement activities to maintain product quality and delivery
 Gain a deep understanding of workflows, bottlenecks and efficiency of the entire QA organization
 Work within a budget to streamline and improve the capability and effectiveness of the QA organization
 Leverage automation across product and platform testing in collaboration with the Automation Test Lead
 Develop a QA roadmap and collaborate with stakeholders to create a 'north star' + implementation strategy
 Support collaboration between the automation teams and development teams to ensure that testability features are tracked and prioritized appropriately. Develop mini business cases where necessary.
 Lead multiple quality projects simultaneously
 Represent quality team in project and platform core team meetings and report consolidated status of QA
 Plan, co-ordinate and develop manual and automated system test labs
 Ensure test results are tracked and maintained
 Plan personnel and hardware/tool resource needs for testing projects
 Plan and oversee availability of test hardware at right locations for testing
 Collaborate with vendor teams to design, develop and maintain test environments
 Manage and co-ordinate overall QA and project QA budgets
 Manage external vendor budgets, oversee time management and ensure timely payment for vendors
 Support ISO-9001 audits by maintaining excellent project records and documentation
 Provide recommendations for QA toolchains and develop a business case for new tools
 Collaborate with development teams and DEVOPs teams to develop and improve cross-tool coverage, results and traceability for project and platform teams
 Contribute to internal product and platform development process improvement
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 BS in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent extensive experience
 10+ or more years of experience in a complex product driven engineering development environment
 7+ years' experience managing software and device test and quality assurance activities
 Experience delivering high quality products to customers by adhering to continuous improvement practices
 automation scripts
 7+ years' experience in mentoring, leading and managing quality teams
 5+ years' experience in delivering high-quality, high-volume products to the market as a quality lead
 Experience managing distributed, remote and offshore teams.
 Exposure to firmware, hardware, schematics and related testing practices
 Experience in the development of test plans, test procedures and application testing
 Experience with test asset management and bug tracking tools, such as Zephyr and Jira
 Experience with organizing and managing system test labs
 Excellent understanding of Agile development and test methodologies
 Experience leading QA activities in a full-stack environment including cloud components,
DESIRED Qualifications:  MBA  Experience with Zephyr Scale or Zephyr Enterprise  Experience developing code coverage improvements leveraging deep inspection code coverage toolchains  Python programming fluency  Experience leveraging AI to create efficiencies within manual and automated testing
Salary range for candidates based in California: $236,000 - $354,000
Salary range for candidates based in Colorado or New York- New York City: $221,000 - $331,00
Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
