A Washington, D.C. based government contracting firm is seeking an internal Human Resource and Payroll Specialist to run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including on-boarding / off-boarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices as well as process payroll and maintain employee time records.
In Short
 Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with training and assessments.
 Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
 Administers human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
 Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees.
 Maintains compliance with employment laws and regulations.
 Processes payroll information and ensures proper deductions.
 Records and processes payroll tax deposits.
 Maintains knowledge of HR trends and best practices.
 Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
 Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
 Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
 Ability to learn HRIS and payroll software quickly.
