CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST
INSURANCE AGENCY

Reports to: Agency Manager
Location: Work from Home, onsite in South Lyon, or onsite in Plymouth, Michigan.
Must reside in the Detroit Metropolitan area.
Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Auto: Covers cars, including rentals, and protects against theft, vandalism, and damage from fire, flood, and other causes
• Home: Covers homes and condos
• Renters: Covers renters
• Life: Covers life insurance
• Business: Covers small businesses
• Umbrella: Covers personal umbrella insurance
• Boat: Covers boats and watercraft
• RV: Covers RVs, including motorhomes and pickup trucks
• Motorcycle: Covers motorcycles and ATVs
• Mobile home: Covers mobile homes
Preferred characteristics of the ideal candidate:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Internal motivation to perform at a high level
• Great team attitude with willingness to learn and help others
• Reliability and punctuality
• Strong morality and ethics
Required characteristics of the hired candidate:
• Already obtained their Property & Casualty (P&C) license.
• Minimum 1+ years of exceptional, client facing, Customer Service experience.
What you will do:
• Work directly with customers through inbound and outbound phone calls.
• Calls range from helping customers maintain their memberships to adding vehicles to insurance policies and more.
• Listen and understand customer issues, while offering meaningful solutions.
• Proactively offer valuable products and services.
• Actively listen and engage Members and fellow Team Members with a “can do” attitude.
• Operate in a fluid environment – we are not one size fits all.
• Be open to an ever-changing atmosphere in which coaching and development leads to positive growth.
What you will need:
• Prior Customer Service experience.
• Recent Call Center experience preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
• Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency using computers while actively listening, both for data entry, as well as for complex computer navigation.
• A flexible and positive attitude to navigate our ever-changing environment.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Job Type:

Compensation:
• Salary - $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 salary per year, commensurate with experience.
• Annual bonus program paid out in March & December
• Paid time off and holiday pay

License/Certification:
• Insurance Producer (P&C) License (required)
