About the position

The Provider Informaticist I at MedStar Health is a full-time role focused on enhancing clinical information systems within the Women's Health sector, covering both ambulatory and inpatient services. This position serves as a clinical expert and consultant, responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of information systems to improve healthcare processes. The role involves collaboration with healthcare teams to optimize patient care outcomes and ensure compliance with clinical standards.

Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for professional clinical practice.

• Utilize strategies in collaboration with the healthcare team to support patient care outcomes.
,
• Facilitate and innovate clinical care by implementing and evaluating new techniques and equipment.
,
• Serve as a subject matter expert in health informatics and identify technology requirements for clinicians.
,
• Evaluate and revise existing clinical information systems and processes based on customer requirements.
,
• Provide advanced support including hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and software installation.
,
• Analyze data to identify issues in practice and develop programs for improvement.
,
• Develop and implement educational strategies to promote computer literacy within the medical group.
,
• Engage in teaching activities for clinicians and other health disciplines.
,
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support organizational objectives and quality of care.

• Maintain knowledge of trends in Health Informatics through professional activities and continuous scholarly growth.
,
• Act as the liaison and project manager for information system initiatives, promoting the use of technology in patient care.

• Perform business process analysis and needs assessment to align IT solutions with business initiatives.
,
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards, taking corrective action when necessary.

• Facilitate performance improvement planning and document existing processes for baseline development.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required.
,
• 3 years of progressively responsible informatics job-related experience required.
,
• Experience in system analysis/programming, customer service, information systems, and/or project management preferred.
,
• Prior experience in an IS or clinical related role preferred.
,
• Master's degree in informatics or information management preferred.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in Women's health within ambulatory services.

• Experience in project management.
