Insurance Verification Specialist - Part Time (Remote)
Posted 2025-04-06Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Department is responsible for verifying life and health insurance applications directly with potential customers. It is a vital part of the CompanyÂs New Business and Underwriting process. The information you verify and gather directly relates to determining whether the Company will decline or issue a policy.
Primary Responsibilities:  Call center environment - Need to be comfortable taking a high volume of calls on a daily basis  Maneuver within the Quality Assurance database and conduct appropriate assessments on what additional information or verification is needed  Ability to handle inbound/outbound calls to potential customers  verify and document required information to finalize applications for underwriting assessment.  Be able to properly explain the application process to potential customers  Successfully meet the minimum expectation for the departmental key performance indicator (K.P.IÂs)
Requirements:  1+ years of work experience in a high volume contact center environment, receptionist role, -OR- a role in which they commonly took calls on a daily basis (Strict Requirement)  Basic knowledge of Medical terminology required (strict requirement)  18 years of age or older  High School Diploma or equivalent  Bilingual Spanish/English Preferred  Remote Experience Preferred but not required  Reliable internet connection (Must meet minimum 20 UPLOAD speed and must be a hard wired connection)  For safety reasons - It is required that you have or are willing to obtain a fire extinguisher to keep in your home  Quiet & Professional Workplace  Basic Computer Knowledge/Skills  Excellent oral and written communication  Minimum typing requirement of 30 wpm  Superior customer service skills required  friendly, efficient, good listener  Proficient use of the computer, keyboard functions and Microsoft Office  Ability to multi-task  Ability to work under pressure  Excellent organization and time management skills  Must be detail-oriented
Benefits:
 Full time employees only are eligible for benefits after 30 days and fully invested in the pension for life with 5 years of service
Training Schedule:
 For 4 weeks - Monday  Thursday 5pm to 9pm CST, Friday 4pm to 8pm CST
Post-Training Schedule:
 Monday: 4pm-9pm CST
 Tuesday: OFF
 Wednesday: 4pm-9pm CST
 Thursday: 4pm to 9pm CST
 Friday 4pm to 8pm CST
 Saturday 7am to 12pm CST
 Sunday: OFF
Expected Start Date: Dec 9th 2024
 100% Attendance Policy during the first 90 days (Missing time could potentially result in termination)
Pay:
 $15.00/hr
 Eligible for extra $1/hr on top of base pay IF Bilingual in Spanish (must pass a bilingual assessment test to qualify)
 Employees get paid biweekly
Bonus Pay: The client will look at the employee's performance/metrics each pay period to determine what tier the employee is eligible to earn for that pay period
 Extra $4/hr-$10/hr (Equating to $19/hr-$25/hr) - Can earn this tier starting from Day 1
Equipment:
 Will be provided
 Will be sent via FedEx and will include a dual monitor, headset, keyboard, mouse, and a camera for virtual meetings
 Equipment does not get shipped out until the Friday before training starts. Candidates will get an email on that Friday with tracking information. Equipment is expediated, therefore they should be expecting it to arrive that weekend and must be home to sign off on it
