Treliant LLC, multi-disciplinary compliance and strategic advisory firm specializing in banking / financial services, seeks a Senior Director for the Global Financial Crimes Compliance "GFCC" practice in its offices located in Washington, DC and New York, NY. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior executive with experience at financial institutions, regulatory/government body, consulting or other relevant institutions. This role is responsible for leading teams and projects, developing business with existing and prospective clients and assisting the executive team with developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives in the evolving financial service industry. As a Senior Director for the GFCC team, you must demonstrate senior level expertise within a large, complex financial services institution and be adept at navigating complex issues in a continuously changing global regulatory environment.
Responsibilities
Lead project teams to evaluate and provide solutions for effective client internal controls, process improvements, governance, policies, standards, and procedures
Participate in business development initiatives that include attending industry
conferences, speaking and writing engagements
Provide leadership through detailed planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring of project requirements against a determined timeline
Apply industry experience to meet or exceed client needs and expectations within required timelines and commitments
Actively support new business development through the acquisition of new business with new or existing clients
Liaise effectively with clients and collaborators and serve as the main contact for day-to-day aspects of one or more engagements
Drive multiple, concurrent work streams, review specific deliverables and ensure that project deadlines are met
Continually assess current and future market conditions and evaluate current programs, policies and plans accordingly
Willingness to travel up to 50% - 100%; both domestic and international locations
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent work experience in the financial industry
A minimum of 15+ years of related AML, Legal or Compliance experience operating in a fast pace large global financial services firm supporting a compliance, operations program with an operation risk and/or compliance focus; extensive knowledge with one or more of the following agencies (FRB, OCC, FinCEN, or SIFMA). Professional services consulting experience is highly desired.
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) desired
Expert knowledge and application in three or more of the following areas: Regulatory Compliance and Technology, Risk Assessments, Financial Crimes, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Fraud or Financial and Operational Audit, Risk Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Data Governance, Compliance Gap Analysis, Internal Investigations, Trade Surveillance Reviews, Compliance and Remediation
Robust knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Suspicious Activity Reports (SARS), Global Sanctions / Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and Know Your Customer (KYC) and other laws, regulations and industry best practices
Knowledge of Analytics, Data Science, and Big Data is desired
Experience identifying compliance risks and ability to competently advise clients on complex matters
Experience reviewing and analyzing complex transactions and key regulatory developments in the financial crimes space
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of current major global regulations issues and their impact or potential impact on clients
Ability to lead and influence "C-Suite" executives to include Board of Directors using sound judgment, and successful execution strategies
Demonstrated track record managing multiple projects in high-pressure situations
Highly developed relationship building and management skills, and the ability to persuade individuals with conflicting priorities
Proven experience identifying risks and formulating effective governance, policies, standards, and procedures
