The selected candidate will work within a school environment, providing direct healthcare services to students and assisting the school nurse in ensuring the health and well-being of all students. Responsibilities:  Provide routine health care and first aid to students in accordance with school health policies.  Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.  Assist with the management of chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies) for students.  Monitor and manage students health needs throughout the school day.  Respond to emergencies and provide immediate medical assistance as needed.  Assist with health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis) and maintain appropriate documentation.  Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records in compliance with school and state policies.  Work closely with school administration, teachers, and parents to address health concerns.  Provide health education to students, faculty, and staff on various health topics.  Help maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring all medical supplies and equipment are ready and available for use.
Qualifications: Â Active LPN License in the state of Kansas. Â High School Diploma or equivalent; LPN Certification required. Â Prior experience in healthcare, especially in pediatric or school nursing, is preferred but not required. Â Strong communication and organizational skills. Â Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor when working with students. Â Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in a fast-paced school environment. Â Knowledge of school health policies and student care procedures is a plus.
Details & Requirements: Â Location: Kansas City, KS Â Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Â Start Date: ASAP Â Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM Â 3:30 PM (school hours) Â Caseload: Students with varying health needs, including chronic conditions and emergency care situations.
