While you might have a formal background in engineering, you may also have grown into the role from another discipline. Technical rigor is important to the work, but kind, thoughtful communication, and seeing from other perspectives are on equal footing for this role. Youâre comfortable thinking through complex systems and finding pragmatic solutions. Youâre excited about making tools that just work when you put them in peopleâs hands.Â

Youâll work on a small team with dedicated people from engineering, design, and product management. Together, youâll build new tools that help domain experts, developers, and data people collaborate on shared models, and work closely with users to ensure the team delivers cohesive solutions that fit real problems.Â
Key focus areas include:Â
- Visualizations for exploring entities and relationships that are useful and even funÂ
- Interfaces that let people collaboratively build and edit shared modelsÂ
- Version control and collaboration tools which safely enable teamworkÂ
- AI agents that work with users to extend what they can doÂ
- State management and API integration across a growing platformÂ
- Experience building highly interactive web applications with modern frameworks (solidjs experience a plus, but not required)Â
- A strong foundation in frontend development (HTML, CSS, Typescript)Â
- Experience with data visualization libraries and complex graphical interfacesÂ
- A track record of shipping high-quality tools or platformsÂ
- Experience with 3D or graph visualizationsÂ
- A background in data modeling or knowledge graphsÂ
- Familiarity with AI and ML tooling and platformsÂ
- Open source contributions
- Exposure to game design principles like procedural generation, emergent behavior, and organic learning
