Location: Baltimore-Washington Metro Area or at least Mid-Atlantic (100% telework and 10-20% of the job is travel)

Full-time, 40 Hours Per Week

Your Role

As a planner/analyst with Fentress Inc., you will conduct a broad range of qualitative and quantitative analysis to support our consulting services, particularly space planning. You will work with client datasets to organize and analyze data, develop a clear understanding of how the data relate to the client mission(s), draw conclusions supporting client initiatives, and document the findings in professional reports and presentations.

You will develop a working knowledge of caseload and personnel forecasts for our court clients and support our lead consultants by researching and summarizing demographic, economic, and law enforcement trends. You will support our architects by developing and refining narrative descriptions of space conditions and tenant housing solutions.

Each employee works from a home office (we pride ourselves on our strong virtual environment that has been in place for over 35 years) and participates in project and company-wide meetings via videoconference on an almost daily basis. Responsibilities
• Research demographic, economic, and law enforcement trends from a variety of sources
• Collect, organize, and analyze data, including but not limited to court caseload, personnel, and space
• Prepare high-quality, professional narratives detailing results of both qualitative and quantitative analyses and provide clear, concise conclusions
• Edit team members’ narrative contributions as needed
• Synthesize narrative text, charts, tables, figures, and graphs from multiple contributors to create professionally formatted reports and presentations
• Work collaboratively with lead consultants and team members to draw out observations from data and present analytical results to clients
• Work with lead statistician to develop working knowledge of caseload and personnel forecasting processes and utilize forecasts to support client initiatives, including but not limited to space needs analysis

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in splanning, social science research, economics, statistics, or related field
• Master’s degree preferred

Experience
• Minimum of three years of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, research, data management, and report preparation
• Five years of experience preferred
• Experience in space planning, urban planning, or the court system is a plus
• Government or consulting experience is a plus
• Experience working in a remote environment is a plus

Skills and Abilities
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Highly proficient writer with keen attention to detail
• Proven experience developing high-quality reports and presentations
• Critical thinking and sound judgment; curious problem-solver
• Analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions
• Initiative and ability to work independently
• Team player with strong relational skills
• Ability to positively interface with and communicate clearly with internal staff and external clients
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced and innovative environment
• Highly proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with statistical analysis software preferred (e.g., SAS, SPSS)

HIRE RANGE DISCLAIMER

The salary for this position ranges from $57,000 to $81,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and work history.
