Summer 2025 Editorial Intern, Advice

Slate is looking for a summer editorial intern for its Advice section. This internship is suited for someone who wants hands-on experience working at a fast-paced online magazine and who wants to pursue a career in editing. Youâll help support Slateâs flagship columnsâDear Prudence, Care and Feeding, Pay Dirt, How to Do It, and Good Jobâand embed in a team focused on all things Slate Advice.
This internship will run for 90 days, starting in May or June depending on the candidateâs availability. The position is based in Slateâs Brooklyn office but remote candidates will be considered.
The internship pays minimum wage in your location or $16 an hour, whichever is greater. The deadline to apply is March 20.
Requirements
Candidates must be organized and detail-oriented, have a proven interest in editorial work, and be familiar with Slateâs advice columns. They must be able to work efficiently and without much supervision, but also be enthusiastic about contributing to a team. This is not a podcasting position.
